Anthony E. Smith, PhD Practitioner, author and consultant with over 30 years experience in design and development of social enterprises, community economic development, small business development, renewable resource management, and commodity futures hedging.

Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) registered with the National Futures Association.

Co-Director, MBA Program, Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA.

CEO and President, Secure Futures, LLC a Triple-E solar energy development corporation and commodity trading advising company.

National Program Leader on Community-Based Entrepreneurial Development, USDA Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service (CSREES), Washington, DC. Served in a one year joint appointment in 2002 with Lightstone Community Development Corporation to develop a new national initiative for community-based entrepreneurial development. Co-developed and co-led national workshops, conferences and public-private partnerships to strengthen the entrepreneurial development capacity of rural communities.

Organized and managed successful non-profit and for-profit enterprises, including:

Led strategic planning and future search conferences in Vermont, Colorado, Virginia, West Virginia and Turkey for non-profit, public sector and corporate clients. Designed and organized a national virtual search conference on New American Communities, involving over 200 national policy-makers and practitioners to exchange best practices and policy recommendations for USDA/CSREES to support community-based entrepreneurial development.
